LDS is back!

Sunday saw a very welcome return of open racing for the first time since the start of COVID lockdown – Long Distance Sculls.

256 crews took part - more than 600 athletes - travelling from as far afield as Glasgow, Oxford and York. The sun shone and the race started early.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered and helped make the race safe and fun. Particular thanks goes to our Open Events Committee who, under the leadership of Graham Miller, undertook the meticulous and detailed planning needed to deliver a successful event.

On race day we hosted Councillor Martyn Delaney (Lord Mayor and Admiral of the Dee) who met with some of our Learn to Row and Summer School graduates and attended the prize giving ceremony.
