The RCRC Senior Women are an enthusiastic and growing squad who are looking to build on our groundbreaking 2021 season, where we sent crews to both Henley Women’s and Henley Royal Regatta.

Our Senior group is aimed at experienced rowers who want to compete at a high level. There are usually eight sessions per week, including double water sessions on Saturdays and Sundays, and weekday outings during spring and summer. Land training can be completed at home or at the club and involves ergs, circuits and cross-training - as the squad contains a mixture of full-time students and professional women from all regions of North and East Wales and NW England, flexibility is encouraged.

In previous years, we have qualified multiple crews at HWR (including reaching the finals in club events), finished in the Top 50 at WEHORR, and won at other local and national regattas such as Metropolitan Regatta. For those wishing to target GB trials we have recent experience with entrants across Men’s, Women’s and Junior’s and can be a focus alongside crew boats or individually throughout the year.

There is significant depth of age and experience in the squad, allowing us to work to our specific strengths both on and off the water. In 2021 we were the only club in the Northwest to enter the inaugural Wargrave Challenge Cup at HRR, and made significant gains in technique and speed within the squad; we want to continue aiming high, and take this momentum forward into the 2021-22 season.

We also have an Intermediate group, which is is suitable for those who have graduated from a Learn to Row course, or who are coming back into rowing after a break. If you have not rowed previously our learn to row courses are the best way to get into rowing - have a look HERE for details of the next course. They train several times per week on or off the water, with coaching focusing on honing technique and building fitness in order to compete in local regattas, and eventually join the Senior squad if desired.
