The Great Clean up!

Although in national lockdown members are continuing to exercise including cycling, running, erging and circuit training – all of course done safely and in compliance with current restrictions.

Following a successful application for a ‘Return to Play’ grant the club will be purchasing two Wintech International single sculling boats. One is a brand new boat suitable for weight range 65-75kg and the other a second-hand boat suitable for weight range 75-85kg.

It was agreed that a 50% rebate of fees would be offered to members who have loyally continued to pay despite club closures. More details will be circulated about this soon by our Treasurer, Adam Wilson.

Captain’s Dinner – our Captain, Chloe Sheward, is currently exploring options for hosting a virtual Captain’s Dinner with games, quizzes and a raffle. Dress Code - Blazers and slippers!

The committee is very grateful to:

Duncan Little for cleaning up after the recent flooding.

Jo Jones for providing a ‘heads up’ of river conditions, allowing steps to be taken to protect boats and equipment.

Tommy Reeves and Chloe Sheward for moving boats to safety from rising river levels.

Chloe Sheward for undertaking a comprehensive, boat fleet assessment.

Expressions of interest will be invited for Coordinators of our Summer School and Learn to Row programme.
