Eighty members and guests enjoyed our Spring Ball at the start of the month - our first big social event for over 2 years.
Thank you to the team who made the event such a successful evening - Mel Fildes, Najma Elsayed, Hannah Williams, Amy Markham and our Captain Chloe Sheward. Ticket sales, raffle and games on the night resulted in £1,212 being raised for club funds.
Our Chair, Andrew Firman paid thanks to a trio of ‘unsung heroes’ who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the club and fleet in good working order - Richard Wallace, Duncan Little & Kerry Maddrell.
We welcomed 14 parents of our junior rowers to the Ball, who provide support at club events such as Long Distance Sculls and North of England Head. It was also pleasing to see that some of our junior parents are now learning to row themselves.
What an excellent turn out for an event that was organised in less than a month. We’re hoping that next year will be even bigger and better!
